Two Unimore Students Selected for Prestigious International Competitions in Germany and Norway

Two outstanding student-athletes from the Unimore Sport Excellence programme have been selected to represent Italy at prestigious international competitions, taking place in July 2025.
Roberto Sottile, a postgraduate student in Vehicle Engineering, will participate in the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 Summer World University Games, which will be held in Germany from 16 to 27 July. Sottile, already an Italian national champion in archery, both individually and in team events, will wear the jersey of the Italian Archery Federation (FITARCO) as part of the national university team. Roberto Sottile was previously awarded the Mattia DallAglio Study Prize in 2020 a university recognition dedicated to student-athletes who have distinguished themselves for merit and dedication.
Vivian Osagie, a student in the Nursing degree course at the Reggio Emilia campus, has been selected to compete at the European Under-23 Athletics Championships, which will take place in Bergen, Norway, from 17 to 20 July. A shot put specialist, Vivian recently won the Italian U23 national title and the bronze medal at the 2025 National University Championships in Ancona. She too received the Mattia DallAglio Study Prize this year, in recognition of her outstanding academic and athletic journey.
Roberto and Vivian are tangible examples of how university study and high-level sport can be successfully balanced, demonstrating passion, talent, and determination, remarked Prof. Isabella Morlini, Rectors Delegate for Sport. Their selection for these major international events is a source of pride for the University and for CUS MoRe, which continue to support and promote sporting excellence among our students. On behalf of Unimore and the University Sports Centre, I wish both students the greatest success in their upcoming competitions, confident they will represent the values of commitment and dedication that characterise our academic community in the best possible way.
