Prof. Al Kalak from Unimore is the New President of the International Centre for Studies "Giovanni Pico della Mirandola"

The Board of Directors of the International Centre for Studies "Giovanni Pico della Mirandola" has appointed Professor Matteo Al Kalak from Unimore as its new President, continuing a long-standing tradition of research, study, and promotion of humanistic thought.

A respected historian and academic, and already a member of the Centre's board, Professor Al Kalak teaches Early Modern History at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. He has extensive experience in Renaissance studies and the history of religious thought. His appointment marks a new chapter for the Centre, with the aim of strengthening the connection between historical research, the promotion of local cultural heritage, and the international recognition of Giovanni Pico’s legacy.

"I am honoured to have been chosen to lead such a prestigious Centre. This is also an important opportunity for the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia: in addition to deepening its roots in a territory rich in knowledge, it will be possible to make full use of the University’s many areas of expertise and place them at the service of an international community," commented Professor Al Kalak.

The "Giovanni Pico" Study Centre, founded to preserve and disseminate the legacy of the great Renaissance thinker born in Mirandola in 1463, is today a key point of reference for scholars, institutions, and anyone interested in humanistic culture and philosophical reflection.
