In Modena, a seminar on "Lights and Shadows of EU Regulation in the Digital Era"

At the Economics didactic Pole of Unimore (Viale Fontanelli 11, Modena - Aula I), on Monday 3 March at 10.15 a.m., Prof. Franco Pizzetti, Emeritus of Constitutional Law at the University of Turin and former President of the Italian Data Protection Authority, will hold the first seminar of the programme Digital Economy Law - Jean Monnet Module for the academic year 2024/25, on Lights and Shadows of European Union Regulation in the Digital Era .
The event opens a cycle of meetings with guest speakers, open to the public, aimed at enriching the programme's educational offerings with the aim of starting a dialogue with the business world, institutions, policy makers and digital economy operators in general.
The activity is part of the project Ecodigital - Analysing the EU legal framework of Digital Economy and unfolding its potential, coordinated by Prof. Simone Scagliarini, Professor of Constitutional and Public Law in the Marco Biagi Department of Economics, co-funded by the European Union in the framework of the Jean Monnet Actions, with the purpose of disseminating knowledge of the European legislation on the digital economy.
The meeting will offer a critical overview of the European approach to the challenges posed by digitalisation, which is creating a regulatory framework that amounts to a true European Digital Constitution, capable of granting legal value to the concept of EU digital sovereignty.
Professor Pizzetti has held important institutional roles, including constitutional advisor to Prime Ministers Giovanni Goria in 1987 and Romano Prodi from 1996 to 1998, as well as President of the Italian Data Protection Authority from 2005 to 2012.
The seminar is open to the public, upon registration at the following link: https://forms.gle/6sCm9D5aXn19RZJb8
