PHD Day: Research of the PhD candidates in Engineering and Economics

The Marco Biagi Department of Economics at Unimore will host the event PHD Day Research of the PhD candidates in Engineering and Economics on Friday 14th February, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The event is organised with the support of the Marco Biagi Foundation and will feature contributions from more than 300 PhD students.
The initiative is organised by the Director of the E4E Doctoral School (Engineering For Economics Economics for Engineering), Prof. Paolo Veronesi, together with the Deputy Director Prof. Tommaso Fabbri, in collaboration with the coordinators of the doctoral programmes.
The event will include an introductory session with a speech by the Rector of Unimore, Carlo Adolfo Porro, followed by parallel sessions and poster exhibitions, aiming to showcase, highlight, and promote the research work and results of PhD students from all cohorts.
The day will open and close with two plenary sessions, with the participation of local stakeholders and institutional representatives at various levels. Specifically, at 9:15 AM, the topic "The Doctorate and Local Stakeholders: Possible Connections" will be discussed, and at 5:00 PM, the topic will focus on "The Universitys Perspective on the Future of the PhD".
The E4E Doctoral School (Engineering For Economics Economics for Engineering) was created to train professionals with high interdisciplinary skills who are knowledgeable and proficient in navigating the managerial, economic, business, and engineering fields. The educational paths leading to Industry 4.0 must differ from traditional engineering and managerial pathways, integrating complementary skills to create an interdisciplinary profile.
The Departments of Engineering and Economics have coordinated efforts to create, with the organisational support of the Marco Biagi Foundation, an innovative educational and research path involving five doctoral programmes: the PhD in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), the PhD in Industrial Innovation Engineering, the PhD in Mechanical and Vehicle Engineering "Enzo Ferrari", the PhD in Labour, Development, and Innovation, and the PhD in Civil, Environmental, and Materials Engineering.
