The 2025 Edition of Unimore Orienta is Here

In light of the significant increase in enrolments recorded in the 2024/25 academic year, with a +5.4% rise in enrolments —significantly higher than the national average, which saw an increase of about 1% — the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia presents its training programmes for the 2025/26 academic year to prospective students, as well as to those nearing the completion of their three-year degree programmes, with the annual orientation initiative "Unimore Orienta".

Lecturers, coordinators, students, and professionals from the world of work will be available to provide useful information about Unimore's degree programmes. On 19th February, from 9:00 to 12:30, the presentation of the Bachelor's and Single-cycle Master's degrees will be streamed, while in March, on 18th and 19th, the second-level Master's degrees will be presented, also via streaming.

From 24th to 27th February, the Departments will host in-person Open Days, dedicated to presenting Unimore’s Departments, their degree programmes, career opportunities, and student services.

On Monday, 24th February, the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, the Department of Economics "Marco Biagi", and the courses offered at the Mantua campus (Computer Engineering and Green and Sustainable Chemistry) will be presented. On Tuesday, 25th February, the Departments of: Life Sciences, Linguistic and Cultural Studies, and Physics, Computer Science and Mathematics will be featured. On Wednesday, 26th February, the Departments of: Engineering "Enzo Ferrari", Chemical and Geological Sciences, and Law will be presented. On Thursday, 27th February, the final day of the Open Days, the Departments of: Science and Methods of Engineering, Education and Human Sciences, and Communication and Economics will be introduced.

The excellent enrolment results for the current academic year highlight the continuous efforts of the entire university not only in providing high-quality teaching but also in offering services to support students and career pathways for its graduates.

This is confirmed by the latest AlmaLaurea report, which again shows Unimore's employment rates exceeding regional and national averages, and a growing average salary for both first and second-level graduates, highlighting how the skills acquired during studies can impact job prospects and salary levels.

One year after completing the three-year degree, the employment rate—considering those engaged in paid work, training, or further education—stands at 81.9%. For second-level (or Master's) graduates, the employment rate reaches 84.8% one year after obtaining their degree (against a national average of 75.7% and regional average of 79.1%). This figure rises significantly to 91.3% five years after graduation (national average 88.2% and regional average 89.6%).

"Choosing a university path means making a decision that deeply impacts one's future. For this reason, orientation cannot be reduced to a simple informational moment; it must become a tangible guide, capable of providing the tools necessary for a well-informed choice. Unimore Orienta is precisely aimed at offering students a clear overview of academic and professional opportunities, so they can identify the path best suited to their aspirations. Effective orientation is a strategic investment in the success of studies, reducing the risk of dropout and allowing for more targeted education. The enrolment figures confirm Unimore’s attractiveness, while the employment rates demonstrate its effectiveness in preparing graduates for real-world career scenarios. The university has a responsibility to ensure that no one is left without answers and to guarantee that every choice is based on solid foundations, so that the academic journey becomes a real springboard for the future,” commented Unimore Rector Carlo Adolfo Porro.

The numbers registered this year show that Unimore is a reference point for those seeking real opportunities, through a solid educational environment that provides valuable insights for facing future challenges. This result is also the outcome of the student community's clear perception of Unimore’s welcoming approach and support for all forms of diversity, disability, or learning difficulties and/or psychological distress, as well as attention to students who dedicate part of their lives to sport. We are proud that our educational offerings are recognised for their quality, and we will continue to enhance the attention given to students, encouraging them to build their professional future here,” added Prof. Carla Palumbo, Delegate for Orientation.
