Two scholarships in memory of the engineer Gabriele Giacobazzi

The two study awards are designed to support the careers of deserving students enrolled for the first time in the 2024/2025 academic year in the Master's Degree Programme in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.

"We contributed to the establishment of these scholarships for deserving young people," says Hera Group Executive Chairman Cristian Fabbri, "because we are certain that it is the right choice to commemorate the professionalism and humanity of Gabriele Giacobazzi. During the four years in which he served as Vice Chairman of the Hera Group, we were able to get to know his competence and fairness at first hand, values that, in his memory, will be transferred to the young students who are the recipients of this opportunity”.

In thanking the Hera Group for immediately welcoming the proposed initiative and bringing it to fruition, the President of the Order of Engineers of Modena, Valeria dal Borgo, said: "The scholarships named after Gabriele Giacobazzi represent a worthy recognition of a person of exceptional human and professional value, and will contribute to enhancing his memory among the younger generations, to whom he always paid great attention both as a professional and as a teacher and trainer. Those who, like us, knew him personally will always carry with them a feeling of gratitude for his professional passion and constant dedication with which he guided the growth of our Order”.

"Gabriele Giacobazzi was also an adjunct lecturer at the Master's Degree Programme in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Enzo Ferrari Department of Engineering: the Degree Programme President, Prof. Francesco Mancini, recalls the great appreciation he received from students for the competence, teaching skills, and professional experience with which he enhanced the training programme," added Prof. Grazia Ghermandi of Unimore's Enzo Ferrari Department of Engineering, who oversaw the process for the establishment of the two scholarships.

The call for applications is online on the Unimore website in the Calls, Awards and Scholarships section (www.bandi.unimore.it/StuLau-Premistudio.html ). Applications must be completed and sent, exclusively online, by the application deadline of 15 April 2025 to servizi.studenti@unimore.it
