A docufilm on Falcone and Borsellino at the Modena Military Academy
The Modena Military Academy will open to the public, on Thursday 21 November at 5.30 p.m., to host the docufilm Falcone and Borsellino, the fire of memory, directed by Ambrogio Crespi. The project, which pays tribute to the moral and civil legacy of the two great Italian magistrates, commissioned by the Department of Political Science (DEMS) of the University of Palermo, was produced by Teleone and co-produced by Biondani TMG, PSC Proger Smart Communication and Digital Identity.
The docufilm is a valuable cultural and social project, aimed at keeping alive the memory of Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino, key figures in the fight against the Mafia.
The event, organised by the Department of Law of Unimore, will open with institutional greetings and will be coordinated by Prof. Luigi Foffani. Next, Costantino Visconti and Paola Maggio from the Department of Political Science of the University of Palermo will introduce the screening with insights into the historical and legal context of the work.
After the screening there will be two talks: the first by Giovanni Fiandaca, Professor Emeritus of Criminal Law at the University of Palermo, and the second by Ignazio De Francisci, former Attorney General at the Court of Appeal of Bologna and in the early 1990s a young deputy prosecutor in Falcone and Borsellino's anti-mafia pool.
This initiative aims to promote in-depth reflection on the importance of historical memory and the value of legality, especially among the younger generations, to keep cultivating those principles of justice and civil commitment that guided Falcone and Borsellino.
