An event in Modena on the role of Artificial Intelligence in the future of industry and society

Unimore and the IT company E4 Computer Engineering are organising the first MORE AI summit, an event dedicated to Artificial Intelligence, open to the public, which will be held on Wednesday 13 November, from 2pm, at the Chamber of Commerce of Modena. The initiative aims to take an in-depth look at the impact of AI on industrial and service sectors, with a particular focus on concrete success stories developed at national and regional level.
The event will feature a half-day of meetings, with quick pitches and round tables involving experts, companies and academics to discuss applications, prospects and future trajectories of AI. Participating companies include big names such as Leonardo, Eni, Tetrapak, Philip Morris International, UNIPOL, Prometeia, SEW Eurodrive, NVIDIA and Ammagamma Accenture, as well as start-ups and small and medium-sized companies from the region.
The day will offer a unique opportunity to create a collaborative and competitive network in the field of AI, consolidating the role of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia as a centre of excellence and innovation, says Prof. Simone Calderara, Referent of the AI Academy at Unimore. This event represents the first step towards building a collaborative network involving all the players in the AI supply chain, from researchers to managers, from R&D managers to the students and professionals of tomorrow."
The main objective of the Unimore AI Summit is to bring together Italy's top players to outline the future of Artificial Intelligence by comparing concrete use cases and innovative technologies. Technical and applicative presentations will show the added value that AI can bring to solutions already in use or under development, both for industry and services. The discussion will be enriched by round-table discussions dealing with wide-ranging topics such as the role of AI in society, research and development.
Artificial Intelligence has the potential to transform key sectors for our country, and the Emilia-Romagna Region is at the forefront in this field, adds Prof. Costantino Grana, lecturer in Multimedia Data Processing and AI Schools ER Contact Person for UNIMORE. For more than 20 years, our lab has been carrying out innovative projects ranging from manufacturing to security, from digital humanities to health, actively contributing to the development of AI technology.
AImageLab, Unimore's research laboratory, is a national and international leader, thanks to the contribution of 5 professors, 7 researchers and over 35 students and collaborators engaged in advanced projects. As well as working with Italian companies such as Florim, Ferrari and IMA, AImageLab is part of the ELLIS (European Laboratory of Learning and Intelligent Systems) European network and actively participates in research projects financed by European and national funds.
