Unimore libraries open in the evening

More time to study and carry out research in the libraries of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, which are also open to members of the public from outside the University. Until 30 November, some libraries within the University Library System will extend their evening opening hours until 11 pm, from Monday to Thursday, providing greater opportunities to use university facilities during the evening.
The extended opening hours are already in place at the Interdepartmental Library in Reggio Emilia and the Law Library in Modena. At the Interdepartmental Scientific Library in Modena (BSI) and the Enzo Ferrari Engineering Library, the extended hours will begin on Monday 12 October.
The Interdepartmental Library in Reggio Emilia is open from 9 am to 11 pm from Monday to Thursday, from 9 am to 9 pm on Fridays, and from 10 am to 8 pm on both Saturdays and Sundays. The Law Library in Modena is open from 9 am to 11 pm from Monday to Thursday, from 9 am to 9 pm on Fridays, and from 9 am to 2 pm on Saturdays. At the BSI (Via Campi), following the introduction of the extended evening opening hours, the library will be open from 8.45 am to 11 pm from Monday to Thursday, from 8.45 am to 9 pm on Fridays, and from 10 am to 6 pm on Saturdays. The Engineering Library will extend its opening hours, until 23 December, from Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 7.30 pm.
Access to Unimore libraries in Modena is also available to people who are not members of the University community. The procedure is straightforward: on their first visit, visitors simply need to contact a member of staff to register; for subsequent visits, they can use their health card instead of a Unimore ID card.
The extended opening hours give students, researchers and members of the public a longer period in which to study and carry out their activities, further enhancing university libraries as places of knowledge that are accessible to the wider community. During the evening opening hours, the libraries are supervised by security staff, and librarians are not on site. Catalogue searches, borrowing and returns are therefore available on a self-service basis. For further information: sba@unimore.it
