The International Board of the European Society of Contraception and Reproductive Health, during its international congress held in Belgrade (Serbia), confirmed with 100% of the approval votes Prof. Giovanni Grandis role as Editor-in-Chief of the Society's official scientific journal, The European Journal of Contraception and Reproductive HealthCare, for the next 4 years (2026-2030).
This prestigious journal, which boasts a 30-year history (founded in 1996), is one of the world's leading scientific publications in the field of contraception and reproductive health. Under the editorial leadership of Prof. Grandi, it achieved the highest Impact Factor in its history in 2024.
Prof. Giovanni Grandi, head of the Outpatient Clinic for Contraception and Preventive and Hereditary Gynecological Oncology at the University Hospital of Modena (AOU di Modena), attended the Society's 18th Congress (The European Society of Contraception and Reproductive Health) in Belgrade alongside four resident physicians from the Residency Program in Gynecology and Obstetrics at UniMORE, directed by Prof. Antonio La Marca.
Prof. Grandi presented the original findings of his scientific research concerning innovative treatments for women of reproductive age. In one of the sessions, he shared the stage with, among others, Prof. Đuro Macut, Professor of Endocrinology at the University of Belgrade and Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia.
"The event was a true success for the Modenese and Italian school of gynecological endocrinology: we proposed new, original, and innovative therapeutic ideas regarding sequential approaches for managing abnormal uterine bleeding in perimenopause, which we have already been applying in our clinical practice for several years. With these new, safe, and highly effective therapeutic approaches, we are able to seamlessly manage almost all abnormal uterine bleeding resulting from benign uterine pathology, and, above all, improve the prescriptive appropriateness of the most modern medications at our disposal," commented Prof. Grandi.
With this appointment, there are currently two international journals in the field of Gynecology and Obstetrics edited by UniMORE professors: Prof. Grandi, Editor-in-Chief of EJCRH, and Prof. Antonio La Marca, Editor-in-Chief of the journal Minerva Obstetrics and Gynecology.
"This considerable editorial commitment is clearly the result of our continuous and constant international scientific activity, which inevitably brings prestige to our entire University," added Prof. La Marca.
