Unimores DIEF: A New Strategic Plan to Promote Inclusivity, Equity and Workplace Wellbeing

In line with Unimores Gender Equality Plan, the DIEF developed and approved in November 2025 a dedicated strategic document outlining goals and actions to be implemented over the next three years. These initiatives aim to enhance workplace wellbeing, increase the number of female students, and communicate the Departments commitment to DE&I-related issues.
The first actions contained within the departmental strategic plan will be:
Monday 1 December 2025: the inauguration of the first red bench at the Engineering Campus in Modena, a symbol that for years has encouraged public reflection on gender-based violence.
Thursday 11 December 2025: the event Gender Alliances in the Fight Against Injustice by Irene Facheris, a respected trainer and expert in gender equality and inclusion, who will speak as part of the MUNER DRIVES CHANGE training programme.
As a partner of MUNER, the DIEF supports the activities of the Gender and Diversity Empowerment Committee, which unites companies and universities within the Association to promote initiatives dedicated to Diversity & Inclusion.
Among the initiatives promoted is the MUNER Drives Change training programme, which in autumn 2025 includes three events focused on gender inclusion:
Monday 24 November, at DAMA Tecnopolo in Bologna, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.: Gender Stereotypes in Automotive Visual Culture, led by Pasquale Fameli from the University of Bologna;
Thursday 11 December, at the Tecnopolo in Modena, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.: Gender Alliances in the Fight Against Injustice, led by Irene Facheris;
Thursday 18 December, at the Tecnopolo in Modena, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.: From Values to Culture: DEI as a Driver of Business and Social Innovation, led by Antonella Gioia (Automobili Lamborghini).
Finally, DIEF is also involved in the European project DEBUTING, which focuses on gender equality as a competitiveness factor for small and medium-sized enterprises and as a strategic element for industrial development in Europe. The project addresses gender equality in a renewed perspective aimed at improving regional policies. In this context, MUNER will take part in the project meeting scheduled in Bologna on Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26 November 2025.
