Unimore Libraries Host the International Exhibition “Supercharged by AI | Synthetic and out of control” in November

The Unimore University Library System has been chosen as one of the Italian hosts for the 2025 international exhibition “Supercharged by AI | Synthetic and out of control”, a project developed by IFLA (International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions) and EMIF (European Media Information Fund), in collaboration with Tactical Tech and the DensityDesignLab of the Politecnico di Milano.

The selection followed a call launched by the AIB (Italian Library Association) Information Literacy Observatory, to which the Unimore Library System applied over the summer. The proposal was accepted, and the exhibition will be displayed in the Interdepartmental Libraries of Modena and Reggio Emilia in November 2025.

Already presented in over ten European countries, the exhibition invites visitors to reflect critically on the impact of artificial intelligence in everyday life, exploring four main themes: online scams, harassment, political influence, and stereotypes.

Admission is free according to the following schedule:

  • Reggio Emilia, Interdepartmental Library, Palazzo Dossetti (Viale Allegri 9): 3–13 November, Monday to Friday 9:00–19:00, Saturday 9:00–18:00.
  • Modena, Interdepartmental Scientific Library, Via Campi 213/c: 18–29 November, Monday to Friday 8:45–21:00, Saturday 10:00–18:00.

Guided tours, led by library staff and Civil Service volunteers, as well as a workshop on gender stereotypes in artificial intelligence organised by the genderm re Centre , will be available upon booking. Tours and workshops will take place from 10:00 to 11:00 and from 15:00 to 16:00. Admission to the exhibition, tours, and workshops is free and open to all.

Committed to promoting information and media literacy, the Unimore Library System regards this initiative as a further step in fostering information skills, responsible use of digital resources and critical thinking — key elements of active and engaged citizenship.

The initiative is part of the Third Mission activities organised by the University Library System – Library and Public Engagement Service, in line with the goals of the 2030 Agenda and the University’s Strategic Plans.
