Unimore’s MoRe Modena Racing Team Triumphs at Formula SAE Italy for the Second Consecutive Year

The MoRe Modena Racing team from Unimore ended the 2025 season with an important victory at Formula SAE Italy, held at the Riccardo Paletti Circuit in Varano de’ Melegari, in the Internal Combustion Vehicle class.
This triumph – their second consecutive win after last season’s success – not only crowned the team as the undisputed champions of the Italian competition but also confirmed the consistently high level they demonstrated throughout the season.

Unimore’s MMR team, with its biofuel hybrid car, excelled during the competition, taking first place in the Acceleration, Skidpad, Autocross, Endurance, and Efficiency events. They also claimed a prestigious win in the Engineering Design event and secured a vital podium finish in the Cost Event.
In addition, for the first time in the team’s history, they won the coveted Dallara Award for the car with the best balance between performance and resources used in its construction.

“This result represents an achievement of great value not only for our students but also for the University and the city of Modena,” emphasised Professor Francesco Leali, Director of the “Enzo Ferrari” Department of Engineering. “Thanks to their commitment, creativity, and innovative spirit, the students have once again shown that they can compete and excel on the international stage, proving that investment in high-quality education and research always leads to tangible success. As Director, I am proud to host the team’s main activities within our Department, a project involving over 200 students from different university departments.”

“After a long season of competitions, the result achieved by our students is the well-deserved reward for months of hard work: nights dedicated to designing, building, and testing the vehicle, always striving for improvement,” commented Faculty Advisors Valerio Mangeruga and Matteo Giacopini, adding, “This result rewards their dedication, passion, and determination, and demonstrates the exceptional quality of this supplementary educational project, based on the Learning by Doing model.”

The triumph at Formula SAE Italy 2025 is further proof of the value of teamwork and the relentless pursuit of excellence. The meticulous attention to detail in the Design event, the care taken in preparing and presenting the Cost Event, and the speed and precision in the dynamic events are the results of months of hard work and perfect synergy among all team members.

“A result that rewards the tremendous efforts made throughout the year,” commented Team Leader Gianmarco Guzzo, adding, “each member who contributed to the project has always given their best, and it is never a given that such sacrifices will pay off with results like these; I would like to offer them my most sincere thanks.”

With these prestigious results, the MoRe Modena Racing team confirms itself as one of the most competitive and respected teams on the international Formula Student stage. Excitement is already building for the challenges of the upcoming season, which will see the debut of MoRe Modena Racing’s first-ever electric car, making the project even broader and more cross-disciplinary.
