Unimore's CLA handed out L2 Italian language proficiency certificates to non-Italian-speaking students from high schools in Reggio Emilia

At the Aula Magna "Manodori" of Palazzo Dossetti (Reggio Emilia), the CLA - University Language Centre of Unimore handed over the certificates of proficiency in Italian L2 to the non-Italian-speaking students of the upper secondary schools in the Province of Reggio Emilia, who passed the examinations administered by the experts of the Centro Linguistico in May. The examination tests involved 154 students, examined for the three levels A2, B1 and B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference.
Prof. Franca Poppi, as Director of the Unimore Language Centre states: "With the renewal of the third mission agreement that will expire in 2026 and the stipulation of a specific implementation contract, the collaboration relationship with the network of high schools in Reggio Emilia has been strengthened, enabling us to make our contribution to deepening and producing activities in support of the linguistic and cultural learning of young non-Italian speakers, who have attended specific courses in Italian for foreigners in their individual high schools. It is of fundamental importance that the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia makes its skills and knowledge available to the territory and the 'School', pursuing common integration goals, and contributing to offering spaces and opportunities for growth and knowledge to students coming from migratory and non-migratory backgrounds. In this way, a fruitful synergy is created, which makes use of a more advanced common reflection on the teaching of Italian to foreigners in the territory, also in anticipation of a future university course for these young people'.
In addition to the students, the ceremony was also attended by some representatives of educational institutions and local authorities: Dr. Curioni, Councillor for School Policies of the Municipality of Reggio Emilia, Dr. Elena Carletti, Vice-President of the Province of Reggio Emilia, and Prof. Elena Guidi, Headmistress of the 'Nobili' Institute, leader of the Reggio Emilia network of schools.
