Two Unimore teams in the world's top ten of 'AVIS Engine' magazine

The trade magazine 'AVIS Engine' - Autonomous Vehicles Intelligent simulation software - has included in its special issue 'The Best in the Engineering World' two autonomous driving vehicle teams from Unimore, which are considered among the world's top 10.

These are the TII Unimore team (formerly TII Euroracing), managed by the Unimore Department of Physical, Computer and Mathematical Sciences 'FIM' and the spinoff Hipert srl, which competes in the prestigious international Indy Autonomous Challenge competition, which was awarded 5th place, and the Formula Student 'MMR Driverless' team, placed 8th in the ranking.

"This is, I believe, an excellent result that rewards the hard work of professors, researchers and students of our university and our start-ups. In particular, I would like to mention Prof. Marko Bertogna, head of Hipert Lab for TII Unimore and Prof. Francesco Leali and Alberto Vergnano for Formula Student/MMR Driverless,' comments researcher Paolo Burgio, advisor of the MMR Driverless project.

"The MMR Driverless team is part of Unimore's Learning by Doing project. It is exciting to see how, month after month, the knowledge learnt by students in the different courses becomes the skills that top companies so much look for in our next graduates," - adds Prof. Alberto Vergnano.
