Leading Towards Sustainable Gender Equality Plans

Gender equality in universities and research performing organizations (GEPs) is at the core of the Leading Towards Sustainable Gender Equality Plans in research institutions (LeTSGEPs) project coordinated by Unimore and financed by the European Union within the Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Framework.

Gender Budgeting is a key element of the project - which started in January 2020 and is funded for over 2,000,000 euros - and will contribute to the effectiveness and sustainability of Gender Equality Plans by identifying the resources and the impact of actions in terms of gender equality.

LeTSGEPs’ website, on line since 31 August, will allow us to communicate our path towards the development and implementation of the LeTSGEPs strategy for gender equality in university and research institutions. The Project first months of activity – LeTSGEPs coordinator and Rector’s delegate for Equal Opportunities, Professor Tindara Addabbo states – despite the difficulties due to having to reschedule the activities remotely, have allowed us to establish the state of the art in terms of the implementation of gender budgeting in European universities and to lay the foundations for intense awareness raising and training activities as well as consolidating the network which has been also enriched with new gender equality experts. We are confident that we can transmit our enthusiasm together with the results of our work also through the website”.

Since 31 August, the project website  - https://letsgeps.eu/ - is online and you can share experiences, informations, and news on the different phases of the Project, on the Gender Equality Plans and get to know about the training and gender equality awareness raising activities in all the RPOs included in the project.

The Unimore team includes Professor Tindara Addabbo (coordinator) - Department of Economics Marco Biagi (DEMB), Professor Claudia Canali - Department of Engineering Enzo Ferrari, Professor Ulpiana Kocollari - DEMB, Project Manager Anna Maria Sansoni – DEMB, and Research Assistant Giovanna Badalassi - DEMB.
