International experiences of Unimore students are multiplying

International experiences addressed to Unimore students continue to develop.

A recent example comes from the Degree Programme in Imaging and Radiotherapy Techniques activated in the Department of Medicine, which has given Lisa Balboni, a student of the third year, the opportunity to carry out a research project aimed at preparing her degree thesis at a prestigious Swiss institution.

The student spent a month at the Research Institute for natural sciences and engineering “Paul Scherrer Institute” at the forefront on energy, environment, and health.

The research theme addressed by Lisa Balboni concerned adronic therapy and the optimisation of treatment plans, in particular with protons and in patients suffering from intracranial and ocular oncology.

When returning, the student said she was enthusiastic about the experience she could achieve, and the coordinator of international relations of the Degree Programme, Professor Leonardo Canulli, confirms his intention to further develop these opportunities of study abroad because "in addition to the high educational value, they can also constitute interesting and qualifying employment opportunities".

To date, the Degree Programme in Imaging and Radiotherapy Techniques has active relationships and exchanges with over a dozen universities and research institutes around the world: from England to Portugal, from South Africa to Turkey and Belgium.
