Among the individual evaluation indicators, Unimore stands out for Sustainability and Citations per Lecturer: as regards the first aspect, the University ranks tenth nationally, testifying to the institution's commitment to contributing to a sustainable future and the ecological reconversion of the economy. Internationally, this commitment is recognised with an excellent 263rd place.

These results demonstrate the university's commitment to maintaining a high quality education, to driving research with a view to constant innovation and to contributing to the growth and cohesion of society. These goals were made possible thanks to the dedication of the administrative staff, lecturers, researchers and the active participation of male and female students at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.

"The important progress in the world ranking and the solid position at national level," comments the Magnificent Rector, Prof. Carlo Adolfo Porro, "are clear evidence of the value of the work carried out by Unimore's lecturers, staff and students. Our excellent performance in sustainability, the citations per lecturer and the employment results of our graduates are particularly gratifying, reflect our commitment to a sustainable future and, above all, testify to the quality of our research and success in preparing our students for the world of work.

"We will continue to work with dedication and passion," concludes the Rector, "to ensure that Unimore remains a centre of excellence in education and research, actively contributing to the quality development of our society and our region, always with an eye on Europe and the world”.

The QS World University Rankings is a directory of universities around the world, recognised internationally for its authority and influence. First launched in 2004 by the British consultancy QS Quacquarelli Symonds, the ranking is based on a detailed and multidimensional analysis of academic institutions. Various performance indicators are taken into account, including academic reputation, reputation with employers, teacher/student ratio, citations per lecturer, proportion of international lecturers and international students.

The QS World University Rankings are considered a reference tool for students, academics and policy-makers worldwide, offering a detailed overview and comparison of universities globally.

The 2024 edition of the QS World University Rankings is the largest ever, with 1,500 universities in 104 countries, up from 1,418 last year.

The results take into account the distribution and performance of 17.5 million academic articles published between 2017 and 2021 and the 141.6 million citations received from these papers; they also incorporate the expert opinions of over 144,000 academic faculty members and over 98,000 employers worldwide.
