AlmaLaurea Report 2023 Unimore at the top for employment and remuneration of graduates

A detailed analysis of the latest Almalaurea report reveals for the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, which has long been at the top on a national scale, a further increase in the employment rates and average salary of its graduates, highlighting the value of the training experience and the positive impact on job prospects.

The data emerging from the AlmaLaurea Report 2023 Report draw a picture of definite recognition and appreciation for graduates from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. This positive trend is reflected in the higher employment rates and average salaries of bachelor and master graduates, showing how their educational experience and the skills acquired during their studies have positively influenced their job prospects and salary levels.

Unimore, which has always been at the forefront in the education of its students, offers a wide range of training programmes, ranging from scientific disciplines to the humanities. In addition, the university has placed special emphasis on programmes to access the world of work, offering concrete support in the transition from degree to employment, also thanks to a constant dialogue with the productive, social and institutional fabric of the territory.

An analysis of the data on the employment rate of bachelor graduates (three-year degrees) at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia shows a further strongly positive development, going beyond the already excellent results of last year.

One year after graduation, the employment rate, which considers all those who are engaged in a paid activity, employment or training, rose from 81.8% in the 2022 Report to 85.9% in 2023 (data taken from 2021 and 2022, respectively). This increase of 4.1 percentage points indicates a significant improvement in the ability of graduates to find employment or paid training opportunities in the year following graduation.

At the same time, there is a significant decrease in the unemployment rate, calculated on the labour force, i.e. those who are already in or intend to enter the labour market. In the 2022 Report, the unemployment rate was 9.8%, while in the 2023 Report, it has almost halved to 5.0%, indicating a significant decrease in the number of graduates unsuccessfully looking for work.

The report also highlights the figures for second-level (or master's) graduates: these show an employment rate of 86.7% one year after graduation (national average 77.1%), a percentage that rises significantly five years after graduation, at 92.6% (national average 88.7%).

The unemployment rate figure for Unimore graduates is also extremely positive and encouraging. It stands at 1.9%, which is significantly lower than the national average and even lower than last year, when the university stood at 3%.

As far as salaries are concerned, the report shows that the average for Unimore graduates is €1,455 net monthly one year after graduation (national average €1,366). This value tends to increase further five years after graduation to €1,746 (national average €1,697), confirming the excellent prospects offered by the university.

The results also show a high level of general satisfaction with the university experience for students: 86.9% of graduates are satisfied with their relationship with the teaching staff and 84.4% consider the study load adequate for the duration of the programme. Regarding the infrastructure provided by the university, 86.5% of the graduates who used it considered the classrooms to be adequate. More generally, 90.9% of graduates said they were satisfied with their university experience as a whole.

'These are truly excellent figures,' comments Unimore's Rector, Prof. Carlo Adolfo Porro, 'which highlight not only the very high quality of our training offer, but also its ability to prepare our graduates for a concrete and fruitful entry into the world of work. These numbers reflect the dedication and passion with which the University is committed to supporting students on their journey. The growth in the employment rate and the increase in the average salary of Unimore graduates testify to the effectiveness of our study programmes and their relevance on the labour market. This is a source of great pride for us, and I would like to thank all the teaching and administrative staff and our students for their constant commitment. We will continue to work with determination to maintain and improve these levels of quality."
