Valentina Rodini, Unimore student and Olympic rowing champion in Tokyo 2021, graduated in Reggio Emilia

Valentina Rodini, a Unimore student on the master's degree programme in Management and Business Communication and Olympic rowing champion in Tokyo 2021 in the lightweight double weight speciality, graduated today in the extraordinary session of her first academic year of enrolment after the prescribed time.

Rodini, who defended a research thesis entitled "Mentalitą sportiva applicata in azienda: formazione aziendale e metodo sportivo” (Sporting mindset applied in the company: corporate training and the sporting method) with Prof. Massimo Neri as supervisor, has been a Unimore Sport Excellence (USE) athlete since A.Y. 2018/19, the programme that, thanks to its specific educational benefits reserved for male and female students practising sport at high levels, had already enabled her to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Business Organisation.

Having been a part of the USE programme throughout her studies, Valentina was also awarded the Diploma supplement at the same time as her degree, certifying the specificity of the student-athlete's dual career.

The Unimore Sport Excellence programme, signed by CONI and Unimore in June 2017, is addressed to support the learning and university training activities of student-athletes who regularly play competitive sports of national and international relevance.

Being part of the project creates the conditions for talented young athletes to best combine competitive sport and university commitment, through the support of educational benefits and the provision of study awards for the most deserving students.
