Unimore has been rewarded by the Italian Erasmus+ National Agency

Unimore has been awarded an important grant funded under the Key Action 107 (KA107) – International Credit Mobility of the Erasmus+ Programme. The five approved projects, submitted by our university and focused on the mobility of students, faculty members and administrative staff, involve partner higher education institutions in Vietnam, China, Thailand, South Africa and Hong Kong.

The overall budget is EUR 306,530.00 and 56 participants will benefit from the corresponding grants: 30 incoming foreign students (2 from China, 6 from Hong Kong, 6 from South Africa, 2 from Thailand and 14 from Vietnam), 7 outgoing students from Unimore (6 with destination Hong Kong and 1 to Thailand), as well as 8 foreign professors coming from partner universities that will perform their teaching activities in Modena and Reggio Emilia and 7 Unimore professors spending their teaching periods abroad. 4 more grants (2 incoming and 2 outgoing) will be dedicated to administrative staff members, with specific training periods.

This is the third consecutive year that Unimore successfully participated to the Key Action 107 Call for Application and this year funding is in addition to the EUR 375,000.00 grant of the 2017 edition and of the EUR 165,970.00 grant of the 2016 edition, reaching up a total amount of EUR 847,500.00 in three years, dedicated to Erasmus+ mobility outside Europe.

“Unimore – as confirmed by Pro-Rector and Delegate for International Relations, Prof. Sergio Ferrariconsiders this funding source as a strategic one and a source that is definitely increasing its importance every year, guaranteeing a valuable experience beyond national borders to students, faculty and staff members”.

Erasmus+ is the 2014-2020 European Union's programme to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe. Started in 2015 with the first national Calls for Applications, the Key Action 107 – International Credit Mobility supports the implementation of mobility projects that are coherent with the internationalization strategies of European Universities. The objective of mentioned action is to attract foreign students and teachers, supporting the universities of the continent in competing with the Higher Education international market, at the same time widening the range of possibile destinations for European students and faculty members, with an open approach towards the countries of the rest of the world.

The projects submitted for each Call for Applications are evaluated by a Committee of international experts nominated by the Erasmus+ National Agency of each European country. For this edition, once again, the projects submitted by Unimore - designed, written and managed by the International Relations Office - received a high-quality assessment considering all the evaluation criteria: strategic relevance, quality of the collaboration arrangements, quality of the project management and implementation as well as impact and dissemination.

“Our joint project with Vietnam of the 2018 edition, for instance, – Prof. Sergio Ferrari underlined – has been the only one in Italy to be funded at 100% with that specific partner country, thanks to the flattering 99/100 score we obtained. The only other project in Italy, among all the approved projects for this edition, obtaining the same score has been the one won by Polytechnic University of Milan with the United States as partner country”.

Unimore’s five projects funded in 2018 come on top of the other six projects - approved in the 2016 and 2017 editions of the KA107 - that already involved partner countries like Vietnam (now funded for the third time), Australia, Brazil, Serbia and Camerun.
